TESTING AND DEVELOPMENT AT THE NÜRBURGRING

For decades, the Nürburgring has been one of the most important testing and development platforms for the international automotive industry. As part of the official test and development sessions, manufacturers and suppliers use the Nordschleife to evaluate vehicles, components and technologies under real extreme conditions. On the world’s most demanding racetrack, engineering expertise, precision and continuous innovation come together – from chassis and aerodynamics to software systems and electric mobility.

The Nordschleife provides a truly unique development environment. More than 20 kilometers of track, countless corner combinations, dramatic elevation changes, varying asphalt surfaces and constantly changing weather conditions make the Nürburgring the ultimate endurance test for vehicles of all kinds. Here, engineers can simulate stresses and loads that would normally only occur after thousands of kilometers on public roads. This is why the long-standing slogan still applies today: “Everyone praises what has been proven at the Nürburgring.”

At the same time, the Nürburgring is far more than just a test track. Behind closed doors, the mobility of tomorrow is being developed here – supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure, fully digitalized safety systems and specialized facilities such as the new “Test & Performance Center | T13”. Many of the record laps and performance achievements later communicated around the world have their origins right here: in years of intensive development work on the Nordschleife. In this way, the Nürburgring uniquely combines technological innovation, global visibility and automotive passion.
