Huge crowds at Family Day 2026

25.10.2026

On Sunday, thousands of families were not deterred by the changeable Eifel weather from visiting the Nürburgring for the fourth Family Day. The event remained as popular as ever: as in previous years, the Ring was transformed into a lively meeting place for families. The covered ring°boulevard was bustling with activity all day long, whilst the numerous other attractions around the race track were also in high demand. Whether it was stage shows, hands-on motorsport, bowling, eSports or family activities: the Nürburgring demonstrated once again that it is far more than just a race track and remains a popular day-out destination for the whole family, even outside major motorsport events. A mix of rain and sunshine, coupled with autumnal temperatures and wind – the typical Eifel weather did nothing to dampen the good atmosphere at this year’s Nürburgring Family Day. Among the numerous hands-on stations and in front of the main event stage, the diverse activities and shows created a lively atmosphere in and around the ring°boulevard. Everywhere, people were playing, marvelling, trying things out and laughing together. The weather-proof activities in particular proved to be a major advantage on this Sunday. Whilst the ring°boulevard, with its numerous hands-on stands and stage programme, formed the centrepiece of the Family Day, the other indoor attractions were also in high demand. The new ring°bowling centre was fully booked throughout the day, as was the ring°kart track – powered by WiSOLAR. The Nürburgring eSports Bar and the ring°cinema also offered families a variety of entertainment, regardless of the weather. The restaurants LUCIA – POLLO ITALIANO and Bitburger Gasthaus in the ring°carré invited visitors to linger and enjoy a bite to eat or a drink in between activities. For Nürburgring Managing Director Christian Stephani, the huge turnout underlines the destination’s special appeal: “It really is something special how many people our Family Day attracts every year – and that’s without any major motorsport event taking place. The huge turnout shows just how attractive the Nürburgring is thanks to our diverse range of activities for families. Together with our strong partners, we create a special experience here every year. It’s simply brilliant to see how our visitors transform the ring°boulevard into a huge children’s party.” “It’s always something very special because the atmosphere is simply brilliant”On the ring°boulevard, the Family Day – supported by RPR1 and the Rhein-Zeitung – once again lived up to its name. On the event stage presented by VR Bank RheinAhrEifel, football artist Jannik Freestyle, children’s singer-songwriter Uwe Reetz and magicians Roy and Dominik thrilled the crowds. RPR1 provided commentary on the varied stage programme with presenter Ralf Schwoll. The numerous mascots surrounding the Nürburgring-Fuchs Legend were also popular photo opportunities.Away from the stage, young visitors were able, amongst other things, to take a seat in a real Formula 4 racing car, carry out experiments at the Junior Uni Daun, or put their skills to the test at the numerous games and sports stations. The fire brigade, police, ambulance service and Lenz breakdown service showcased their emergency vehicles, whilst the motorbike trial demonstrations by the AAC Bad Neuenahr provided extra excitement. Nadine Königs from the Rhein-Zeitung was also full of praise: “Family Day is always something very special because the atmosphere is simply brilliant. There are so many different opportunities here for families to enjoy experiences together and take part in a wide variety of activities”. Family fun whatever the weatherThe fact that visitors weren’t put off by rain or wind was also evident from the outdoor activities on offer. In car park A10 next to the ring°carré, motorsport fans of all ages were able to get behind the wheel themselves at the MSC Adenau kart slalom. The activity proved just as popular in sunshine as it did in the rain. The BMW M Power Grandstand, which was open free of charge, also attracted visitors, who were able to enjoy views of the Grand Prix circuit and the Classic Car Festival taking place at the same time. The mix of covered experience zones and additional outdoor activities made the Family Day a varied day out, even in changeable weather. At the same time, it highlighted just how diverse the options at the Nürburgring are – from real-life motorsport and virtual racing to bowling, cinema and dining. Strong partners and a special thank youRPR1 presenter Ralf Schwoll highlighted not only the special atmosphere but also the collaboration: “It’s impressive just how extensive the Nürburgring’s network is and how many different partners are involved here. Family Day is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the Nürburgring in all its diversity and, at the same time, to thank people for a great season.” Marina Koch-Fiedelak from Junior Uni Daun confirmed that Family Day is also a special event for the participating exhibitors: “This is the second time we’ve taken part in Family Day at the Nürburgring. For us, it’s a great opportunity to reach a wide audience and connect with lots of families and children who are interested in what Junior Uni has to offer.” Following an eventful Sunday with thousands of visitors and numerous delighted families, one thing is already certain: the Nürburgring Family Day is set to take place again next year.

Winter is going to be hot again: DNLS kicks off on December 6

31.10.2025

Race-free time? In the ADAC Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a foreign word – and that’s exactly why the new season of the DNLS starts on December 6th. The virtual format of the traditional Nordschleife championship again includes four races in the 2025/2026 winter season, each over a distance of three hours. The Digitale Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie stands for the same values as its real counterpart: top-class multiclass racing on the most beautiful and demanding racetrack in the world. And because standing at the track in the winter months would really be too cold, the virtual spectacle from the Green Hell is available via livestream on your home screen – fans just need to provide snacks and hot drinks themselves to enjoy the races. The DNLS has established itself as a fixed feature after six seasons – not only in the calendars of numerous teams and drivers from real motorsport, but also in the sim racing scene. The images that the world-leading racing simulation iRacing produces are spectacular, and there are camera perspectives that are hardly possible in reality. The elaborately produced livestream and commentary by NLS commentators set benchmarks in the virtual racing world. For the drivers, sim racing is long more than just a pastime, and even Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen, who debuted in the DNLS 23/24 and this year competed and won his first real race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, sees the simulation as a perfect complement to real racing. “Every kilometer is a racing kilometer, whether in reality on the Nordschleife or in the simulation,” says Nürburgring chief instructor Andreas Gülden, who is now at home in both worlds and will again compete in the DNLS winter season with Team Nürburgring eSports. “When I accompanied Max on the way to his DPN, we also talked about sim racing. You could tell how seriously he takes virtual driving.” Drivers like Gülden play an important role in the DNLS, because in the GT3 class SP9 it is mandatory that at least one pilot from real racing participates. They usually share the cockpit with dedicated sim racing professionals and engage in exciting fights during the races. In the 2024/2025 season, drivers such as Mirko Bortolotti, Tim Heinemann, and Elias Seppänen were in action. Champion in SP9 was none other than Truck Racing European Champion Norbi Kiss. In addition to the GT3 cars, the other classes also offer spectacular racing, above all Cup 2 of the Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring. In the last DNLS season, Raphael Rennhofer finished on top here – he competed in ADAC GT4 Germany in 2024. The Austrian piloted the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup of SCHERER eSPORTS. There are also two further classes: SP10 with GT4 cars from Aston Martin, BMW, and Mercedes-AMG, as well as SP3T with Renault Clio. The season opener of Season 7 of the DNLS is on December 6th, 2025. Races follow on December 20th, 2025, and on February 21st and 28th, 2026. Registration will begin shortly. Before the ‘big’ DNLS literally gets underway again, the final of the Community Cup will take place on November 14th. All information is available at vln.de/dnls.

For the first time, fans were able to top up their credit for tourist trips or purchase a season ticket for 2025 directly at the stand. The latter is currently already available at a discounted price – exclusively at the trade fair and online on the Nürburgring homepage. Many fans took the opportunity to secure their anticipation for the next season in the “Green Hell” when visiting the trade fair. The Nürburgring is presenting itself in Hall 3 with an emotional staging around legendary asphalt, high-tech and the art of engineering. As a powerful eye-catcher, a hypercar is in the spotlight twice at booth 3B24: during the opening weekend, the Mercedes-AMG ONE from the collection of the well-known automobile influencer Gercollector will thrill fans. Easter 2024 at the Nürburgring

27.03.2024

There is something for everyone at the Nürburgring around Easter: As is well known, the weekend is traditionally dominated by tourist drives. From Good Friday (March 29) up to and including Easter Monday (April 1), the Nordschleife and Grand Prix circuit open their doors to everyone every day. In addition, there is plenty to experience at the Nürburgring as a destination around Easter and the subsequent vacation period. An overview:Four days of tourist driving in a row: Easter is traditionally also a festival for Nürburgring enthusiasts. Both the Nordschleife and the Grand Prix circuit are open to everyone. Cars and motorcyclists can take to the legendary asphalt all day long - subject to road traffic regulations. Further information on the tourist rides can be found here. But there are also numerous HeartRace moments at the Nürburgring destination off the track at Easter and during the subsequent vacation period: experience family fun on the ring°kart track, marvel at historical exhibits in the ring°werk adventure museum, admire fascinating digital action in the Nürburgring eSports Bar or try on the new Nürburgring collection in the fan store. There is something to experience every day around the ring°boulevard on the Grand Prix Track.  And because all this makes you hungry and thirsty: numerous restaurants at the Nürburgring will make tired men, moms and mini-racing fans feel lively again. Opposite the ring°boulevard, guests are spoiled for choice: LUCIA - Pollo Italiano serves dolce vita and fresh chicken made to an Italian recipe, while the Bitburger Gasthaus next door offers home-style cooking and an outdoor terrace with a great view. The view from the Devil's Diner is at least as good: located on the access road to the Nordschleife on the outskirts of Nürburg, visitors have a perfect view of the action during the tourist races at Easter.

What happens when F1 world champion Max Verstappen meets NLS rookie Andy Gülden?

14.12.2023

The answer to this question will be provided by the BMW M 3h race of the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series on Saturday, December 16. Reigning Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen will take on the challenge of the 'Green Hell' in the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Team Redline. Among others, the Dutchman will meet NLS rookie Andy Gülden. The chief instructor of the Nürburgring Driving Academy will start together with Gregor Kinski in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 from Nürburgring eSports. You can see how the Formula 1 world champion fares against the Nordschleife and sim racing pros in the livestream on VLN.de on Saturday from 11:45 am with the first images from qualifying. The starting lights will finally turn green at 1 pm. "I think we'll all have to dress warmly when Max lines up in the DNLS," says Gülden. "As Formula 1 world champion, he is currently not only the best racing driver in the world, but has also been an excellent simracer for years. I'm really looking forward to contesting a race against him. You don't experience that every day." Verstappen will share the cockpit with his compatriot Rudy van Buren, the official simulator test and development driver for Oracle Red Bull Racing. Team Redline is one of the veterans of sim racing. Founded in 2000, the multinational team has more than 100 titles to its name - including winning the first iRacing World Championship in 2010. After Mercedes-AMG's six-race triumph in the opening race, the rivals are looking for revenge. The BMW, Ferrari and Porsche teams were clearly left behind in the SP9. There is a change of brand in the DNLS2 line-up. Sami-Matti Trogen and Dominik Staib from the Sontek Racing team are switching from Ferrari to Lamborghini. In addition to Redline, LionGP-fenster.com will continue to attack with the Ferrari 296 GT3. BS+Competition, WS Racing and RC Carshop eSports will compete with the BMW M4 GT3, while Halder Motorsport, Coanda Esports by Manthey, Leipert eSports and the Falken Simracing Team will rely on Porsche. The premiere of the Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring was fiercely contested at the season opener. Scherer eSport Cup secured first place in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup one-make cup ahead of the Apex Racing Team and Team Redline. The other teams from the real Nürburgring Endurance Series, pb performance, KKrämer Racing eSport, AVIA W&S e-Motorsport and Dörr Esports were still left behind. However, the teams will now do everything they can to improve their positions in race two. The premiere of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in the DNLS went well. Dörr Esports immediately took second place with the British super sports car behind Sontek Racing in the BMW M4 GT4. The brand mix at the top of the SP10 class was completed by the MAHLE Racing Team, which entered the Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the race. Behind ATRS eSports, the two NLS teams Adrenalin Motorsport and PROsport SimRacing finished fourth and fifth. After race one, the focus in SP3T will once again be on the duel between SimRC and Team Heusinkveld. The two teams have already dominated the class in recent years and are seamlessly building on their successes in the 23/24 winter season. In the new VT2 class, Nürburgring eSports celebrated its maiden victory with the Toyota GT86. And in race two, fans who are used to the best multiclass racing from the real Nürburgring Endurance Series can once again look forward to thrilling racing action and battles at mirror level in the smaller classes. DNLS2 presents teams in all classes with a new challenge. The 30-minute shorter race distance compared to the season opener requires completely new strategic planning. The professional sim racing teams work closely with their respective manufacturers. At Mercedes-AMG, for example, the topic of virtual motorsport is firmly anchored in the motorsport department - data analysis and strategic planning are carried out using the same software as in real racing.
